Day off with the Hubby!

Hubby got today off of work, so we got to go shopping a little and enjoyed a nice relaxing day together.  While we were out shopping, we happened to pass by the toy section at the BX.  Normally we just keep walking by, but today we just had to stop so he could look at a new toy one of our friends just got.

Yup...hubby got a Nerf gun!  He was a little disappointed to learn that there is some assembly needed for Nerf guns these days, but he managed pretty well.  As soon as he had it up and running, I looked over and couldn't help but laugh at him.  He was in the prone position and shooting at the window.  The gun is fully automatic and I'll admit...it's pretty awesome.  My friend's husband will be home from his deployment soon, so the guys have plans of Nerf wars in the hallway...I might need to get one just to defend myself!

In other news, we had to register out ID cards at the Air Force base out here.  They are now going to be scanning our IDs, so everyone is required to have them registered.  We've been putting it off for awhile, but the deadline is coming up, so we knew we should just get it over with.  We waited about half an hour before we finally got called up.  It took less than five minutes to get us both entered in the system and we were on our way.  Since the registration building is right outside the gate, we had to go back through to get to the BX.  The MP scanned our IDs and then looked at us and said "Hmmm, Sir it says access denied to U.S. bases."  He asked us to pull off to the side so they could figure out what was going on.  Of course everyone is watching us, and now traffic is backed up because of us.  They had someone run inside and ask what was going on and he came out and told us that is was just a glitch in the system.  You'd think they would have that figured out before they require us to do this.  It helped convince me that the scanning system would save time...NOT

  2. That. Is a pretty sweet Nerf gun.

Also, the scanning system sounds intense. I wonder if they'll start that on other bases.

  4. I don't think the scanning thing is going to save time. It takes them longer to scan than to look at the card. Not to mention I bet they won't even look at the card now and if you happened to lose it or have it stolen and not realize it till later someone could use it to get on base since they wont look at the pic probably!

We still haven't registered yet lol. What time did yall go?
