A year of marriage and an update

Yesterday, we celebrated our first anniversary!  It's hard to believe it has been a full year already.  Time sure has flown by since our wedding.  We spent the first few months of our marriage apart while Corey finished his MOS school and I packed up my life in Albuquerque.  Barely three months into married life, we moved halfway around the world and settled into Okinawa life.  It hasn't been easy, but we have truly enjoyed the past year.  The upcoming year is going to be full of new adventures, but we're willing to take anything on. 

Now for an update...I've once again slacked on posting, so here are a few things we've been up to since my last post. 

~We hosted Thanksgiving at our house and I cooked my first turkey!  Some of our friends came over to celebrate with us and I'm pretty sure we all had enough leftovers to last a week! 
~Some of the girls and I have started a months craft event!  In December we made penguins out of tequila bottles and they were a huge hit!  Today we made decoupage jars for Valentine's Day and we're already planning next month's craft for St. Patrick's Day.  (We do the craft a month before the holiday so we have to enjoy them on display in our homes)

~We celebrated our first married Christmas!  We decorated our house together, picked out our (artificial) tree, hosted dinner for one of Corey's friends on Christmas eve, and woke up bright and early to open presents the next morning. 

~We had friends over for New Years Eve (can you tell we like to host things) and we all rung in 2011 together.  We snacked on food, delicious jello shots, and toasted with champagne on the roof of our tower at midnight. 

~We got a new camera!  After asking Corey to stand in line with me for an hour at one of the PXs for a big sale, he decided we weren't leaving without a big ticket item that was on sale :)  So we are the proud new owners of a Nikon d5000.  I'm still learning everything about it, but I'm having fun with the process! 

~Corey got a new toy.  For months there has been talk of maybe getting a bigger TV.  We made a deal that we wouldn't buy one until one of our other TVs was sold, but then we came across a deal to good to pass up.  This weekend we gave in and bought a 52" LED TV.  It's huge!  I can sit on the couch and kind of watch tv without my glasses!  We're definitely hosting a Superbowl party this year! 

There is a lot coming up in the next few months, so I'll have more to update on!  Hopefully a little more often than once every month!  I'll make an effort, I promise.
